Online OCD Therapy in Ontario
OCD Treatment
Available Across
Ontario
You don't need to be in Toronto to work with a Toronto therapist whose practice focuses exclusively on OCD. All sessions at The OCD Clinic are delivered online, which means you get access to evidence-based ERP therapy regardless of where you are in Ontario.
Online ERP therapy for OCD is not a compromise. The research is clear: remotely delivered ERP produces outcomes equivalent to in-person treatment. For OCD specifically, online delivery may actually have a practical advantage: your triggers are in your own environment, not in a therapy office.
If you've been waiting for the right OCD therapist to open up in your city, or if you've tried local options that didn't specialize in OCD, this is the alternative.
Why Online ERP Works
Proven to Work
Multiple independent meta-analyses confirm that online ERP produces outcomes equivalent to in-person ERP. A 2021 analysis of 22 studies (n=1,796) found no significant difference in outcomes between remote and in-person delivery.
Your Environment Is the Exposure
For OCD, online therapy has a practical advantage: your triggers are in your environment, not in a therapist's office. Exposures happen where your OCD actually lives.
Access to a Therapist Focused on OCD
Finding a therapist who focuses on OCD in smaller Ontario cities is difficult. Online delivery means you get access to a therapist who treats OCD exclusively, regardless of where you are in Ontario.
No Wait. No Commute.
Evening and weekend appointments. No travel time. Therapy fits into your life, not the other way around.

ERP stands for Exposure and Response Prevention. It's a specialized form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) developed specifically for OCD. The 'exposure' part involves gradually facing situations, thoughts, or images that trigger OCD anxiety. The 'response prevention' part involves choosing not to perform compulsions in response to that anxiety.
CBT is a broad category. ERP is a specific protocol within CBT that was developed for OCD. General CBT often focuses on challenging and restructuring thoughts. ERP instead focuses on changing your behavioural response to intrusive thoughts - not the thoughts themselves. This distinction matters, because standard cognitive restructuring can actually reinforce OCD by engaging with obsessions.
No. Flooding is an older technique that involves immediate, intense exposure to your worst fear. ERP is graduated - we build a hierarchy of triggers from mildest to most intense and work through them at a pace you can manage. You're always in control of the pace, and we never push you into something you're not prepared for.
Yes. 'Pure O' is a common term for OCD presentations where the compulsions are primarily mental - rumination, mental reviewing, self-reassurance, mental checking. ERP is adapted for these presentations by identifying the covert rituals and building exposures around the specific intrusive thoughts. The principle is identical: face the trigger, resist the compulsion.
